One of the new opportunities that attracted a lot of attention at the German Library event Bibliothekartag this year was Lyngsoe Systems’ new Book-O-Mat self-service book dispenser. We introduced this new, robust technology for materials pick up to the German market at the event in Berlin, Germany from June 12-15.
The Book-O-Mat is a robust solution for material returns that provides patrons with automated access to the library’s materials. This self-service book dispenser helps libraries extend their reach outside of normal opening hours. The Book-O-Mat can be installed in areas frequented by library patrons, not only outside of the library itself but at train stations or in city business districts, for example. Library staff simply stock the Book-O-Mat with materials reserved by patrons, and each individual compartment in the kiosk is then linked to the patron.
Patrons can pick up materials they have reserved, at their convenience, by following a few simple steps on the Book-O-Mat’s intuitive touch screen, without the need for library staff, at any time of the day.
With this flexible product, libraries can serve their patrons at all hours, by allowing users to pick up holds at their convenience, at any time. Book-O-Mat supports either HF or UHF RFID.

As part of a major refurbishment, Danish Middelfart Library opted for a technology upgrade. The result is a seamless sorting solution and extended opening hours with significant positive impacts on the local community.
Lyngsoe Systems is helping the Gladsaxe Library, Denmark, embark on a new automation upgrade that will make materials sortation fast and efficient in the main library across its three floors, and four additional branches.
By introducing the Lyngsoe Intelligent Material Management System™, Aalborg Libraries achieved many benefits, including enhanced patron service, optimized collections and improved working efficiency.
