Lyngsoe RFID Middleware
Middelware is software that resides between the RFID interrogator (reader) and enterprise applications. Middleware performs a number of functions, including managing the interrogators, filtering data and controlling lowlevel machines that might be activated beased on an RFID tag read.
Lyngsoe CRS Central RFID/Bar Code Backend Server
The Catellae™ CRS is located centrally to control a number of site servers in a scalable network. The CRS hosts a central database where all orders, transactions and data from data capture equipment is stored.
The CRS processes and stores a large amount of data from one up to hundreds of sites in a database, which is accessed by front-end applications for reporting and data analysis. CRS validates incoming data against a database of valid data series and site configurations.
Data is organised by the CRS into separate areas of the central database according to their use. Data that is organized, provides faster access to specific data for software modules working on the database.
Site configurations and setup parameters for each individual site server in the network are maintained by the CRS. If data capture equipment is added or removed from a site, the CRS updates the EDECS on that site.
RFID/Barcode Equipment Configurations for each individual piece of RFID/barcode equipment attached to a site server are maintained by the CRS. If changes in RFID/barcode equipment configurations are required, the CRS updates the EDECS on the site which again updates the data capture equipment. This way configurations for all data capture equipment parts in a network are updated centrally.
CRS has logging facilities for logging events, data transmission and database activities. All logs are stored for a specific period of time. Access to the CRS is controlled by user profiles for each individual user. User profiles are maintained by the CRS.
Lyngsoe EDECS - Expandable Data Exchange Communication System
The Catellae™ EDECS data collection platform is a proven middleware for the local control of multiple types of data capture equipment - including both active and passive RFID and barcodes.
EDECS continuously monitors and receives data from data capture equipment and PLC-controllers.
EDECS filters data from RFID/bar code equipment by either accepting or rejecting tags belonging to a specific system or eliminating tag cross-readings, determining setup parameters including RF cross-talk filtering and data validation. Fine-tuning of read zones and spacing algorithms between items on conveyor belts are available in the EDECS software as adjustable to individual sort speeds and item sizes.
EDECS monitors the status of attached RFID/bar code equipment and reports errors in several classes. Critical errors are reported immediately. Less critical errors are only reported if they persist for a specific period of time - or if there are more than a specific number of continuous errors.
EDECS is EPCIS compliant.
