Tracking of secure shipments
Real-time tracking information of high-value, high sensitive or critical shipments is not only important for the post, but also for the post’s customers. By adding RFID technology, Lyngsoe’s Secure Shipment system can initiate tracking at the customer’s premises and continue through the whole postal logistic chain to the point of end receipt. The RFID system automatically registers dispatch, transport links and receipt handling of secure shipments and can either operate on an existing AMQM™ system or as a standalone system.

The RFID system is 100% objective and, therefore, there can never be any doubt about when the shipment went from the customer’s premises to the post and arrived with the recipient. Because the system delivers indisputable documentation, it can be used by the post to document the postal delivery performance to the customer. Furthermore, since the data is shared between the post and the customer, doubts about adequate documentation can be fully dispelled.
Canada Post gets huge benefits in their own logistic and a satisfied customer
The first Lyngsoe Secure Shipment System was commissioned by Canada Post in autumn 2008. Canada Post uses the system to track secure inter-office documentation and material, and the system can also be used for tracking high-value items such as flat screens or mobile phones. Canada Post launched the system after a very successful pilot that delivered a 99.97% RFID shipment read rate over 9000 shipments. The system now covers 25 Canada Post sites and 55 customer facilities and tracks more than 350,000 shipments per year. The system pilot has already proved benefits such as:
