The vehicle and trailer tracking module is an advanced and effective part of QSM Operations that manages precise arrivals and departures of vehicles at specific points of exchange between parties in the logistics chain. The module also includes a yard management feature that provides a full range of options to plan and optimize transport costs.
Real-time information and exact tracking
The QSM Operations software provides almost real-time information about when the trailer has left a hub and when it is scheduled to arrive at a sorting centre or the actual time of arrival. In case of delays, you know exactly whether the vehicle or the production caused the delay.
Volume forecast and feedback to transport planning systems
QSM Operations provides early warnings of delays in transport to all relevant internal and external parties and visualizes planned and actual time of arrival on monitors placed at strategic spots in the production area, similar to the ones used in airports. It also generates and records the exchange of goods between parties, provides volume forecasts right down to each vehicle and links precise feedback to transport planning systems.
The vehicle and trailer tracking module gives postal services the right tool to cut transport expenses and provides a total overview of the utilization of their transport systems; if combined with the next module, actual utilization per vehicle can be calculated automatically.
Truck Reader – innovating RFID hardware
The Lyngsoe Truck Reader is an RFID reader that can identify the location of where any RFID tagged load carrier was loaded or unloaded from a truck via GPS, to give you valuable data on the use and location of roll cages and other important load carriers. It also enables automatic stock control of load carriers loaded and unloaded at customer locations, automatically generating valuable PoC and PoD documentation. It also enables load balancing optimization of trucks, as it provides details of the exact load in the truck, allowing you to extend your customer service and provide instant pick-up of a special delivery when the truck in on the road
