Lyngsoe Library Systems awarded first Automated Material Handling(AMH) in Canada

The City of Richmond, British Columbia recently awarded Lyngsoe Systems, Inc. with a contract for an AMH check-in/ sorting system for the Brighouse Branch of the Richmond Public Library.
The system, the first library system for Lyngsoe in Canada, will enhance customer service and provide significant productivity gains through reductions in key labor-intensive workflow processes. The addition of the AMH system decreases the time an item takes to return to shelf while allowing library staff to focus on its high-level of customer service.
The Automated Material Handling(AMH) System will be delivered in the summer of 2010.
“Our goal as a Library System is to find ways to enhance and improve the customer experience,” states Mark Ellis, Manager, Information Technology for the Richmond Public Library. “The automation of repetitive, ergonomically challenging and time-consuming handling tasks allows library staff to devote more time and energy to our customers.”
