CARMEL CLAY PUBLIC LIBRARY EXTREMELY HAPPY WITH NEW LYNGSOE LIBRARY AMH SYSTEM
16 September 2010
Carmel Clay Public Library in Indiana recently opened their new Lyngsoe Library Automated Materials Handling (AMH) system to the public. After removing their old system, Lyngsoe was contracted to install two LibraryMate 2000s, a Staff Induction, and a 15 bin sorter.
Wendy Phillips, the Director of Carmel Clay Public Library had this to say, "The new Lyngsoe AMH system has already had an enormously positive impact on library operations. Patrons and staff alike saw immediate improvement in speed and efficiency in getting materials back on the shelves, ready for the next patron to check out. Patrons are pleasantly surprised at how little time it takes to feed one item at a time into the return slot, and they love being able to print a receipt for items returned. Staff are delighted to have the items pre-sorted, which helps them to be much more efficient in their work. The system itself is fascinating to watch; the equipment runs quietly and works nearly flawlessly. It's really a win-win solution to every library's biggest challenge of getting materials into the hands of their patrons. We couldn't be happier with our decision."
