Global RFID Test Centers

Lyngsoe currently have two RFID test centers. Our Canadian center services customers across Canada and throughout the United States, while our test center in Denmark provides customer support worldwide.

Continuous testing and development

In the test centers, our innovative RFID specialists work on developing passive and active RFID hardware that is optimized toward the Lyngsoe business units. The teams invent and develop new systems or customize off-the-shelf RFID products to solve real customer problems. The rapid development of RFID technology and its applications continues to offers up new possibilities and what may not have been an advisable solution just a year ago could prove to hold a good business case today.

Continuous testing of RFID hardware

The test centers also have a variety of RFID hardware from other suppliers on the market and are equipped with the latest tools and vendor products. This allows the test centers to recreate realistic operational environments on our own conveyors and portals in which to test and evaluate the available technologies against the application performance. Lyngsoe is an independent systems integrator and we always select the types of technology best suited to the application, and this includes a review of operational cost and ROI. Our hardware products include readers, antennas and tags with either passive or active RFID, as well as units combining both RFID technologies.

Passive and active RFID

Our technology experience covers passive and active RFID solutions from 125 KHz to 5.4 GHz. Passive and active RFID solutions are not only available for tests in the Lyngsoe test centers, but are in daily operation in our many different situations and applications worldwide.

A customer test-center

The Lyngsoe RFID test centers are available for customers wanting to test their options before initiating major projects that implement RFID technology. The Lyngsoe test and consultancy teams’ focus is on assisting customers with turnkey implementation of RFID. This begins with guidance on picking the right technology for the job through to procurement, installation and maintenance of the technology. In addition to supporting customer tests, we also assist universities, such as the University of Zilina in Slovakia, with their RFID studies.

Test of technology – test of business case:

Lyngsoe is well placed to help you develop and test your business case for implementing RFID solutions within your operational facilities. Initial areas for investigation will include

  • Is RFID relevant at all for use in this situation?
  • Which RFID technology is appropriate?
  • What type of RFID tags should be used?
  • What type of fixed reading equipment is appropriate?
  • Where should the reading points be placed and how many?
  • How should the reading gate/reading point be designed?
  • How effective is readability? What are the read constraints, and what can be done to mitigate them?
  • What are the implications with respect to radio regulations and approvals?

Simon Johansen

As we cannot deny that many innovative thoughts and proposals may be diluted by real-world practicalities, we trust that many customers will be attracted by the possibility of carrying out their own tests at the center. Here the solutions can be tried in an almost “real world” before mistakes prove expensive,” says Division Manager – Supply Chain Solutions – Simon Johansen.
